NEW COMPOSITION FOR GUITAR ____________
Faroese composer Sunleif Rasmussen has written a new work for guitar. The first part of this piece was premičred by Ólavur Jakobsen on the festival Summartónar 2006 in the Nordic House, Tórshavn, Faroe Islands.
The piece is written as a Partita with movements inspired from the Baroque era: Prelude, Allemande, Courante, Sarabande and Gigue. The first two movements are without electronic processing. In the 3rd movement the processing is gradually building up with effects.
The first performance of the finished work, is scheduled in June 2007 in Tórshavn and subsequently to be performed in Sunleifs hometown Sandur, Copenhagen and Vienna.
Sunleif Rasmussen has, since winning the prestigous Nordic Music Prize, frequently been featured in festivals and concerts abroad.
