Release of CD "frå leddiken" celebrating the 100th anniversery of Norwegian poet Jakob Sande
Hanus G. Johansen is a living legend in the Faroe Islands. This studio recording brings together Hanus's music and the poems of Norways's Jakob Sande. The 15 songs are performed in compelling new arrangements with vivid instrumentation, provided by the multi-talented Faroese ensemble Aldubáran.
Hanus's rich voice brings to life the startling imagery and human intensity of Sande's poetry.
Jakob Sande was born in Dale, Sunnfjord, Norway in 1906. He died in 1967 at the age of 60. By then he had published nine collections of poetry and four books of short stories. Sande's Collected Poetry has sold more copies than any other book of lyric poetry in Norway.
The CD was released on the 1st of December 2006.
